A highly-durable option, the Kelty TN 2 Person Tent is a freestanding piece with a nice number of nifty features. Designed for two people (clearly), this three-season tent is a great addition to your camping gear collection.

Design

Featuring a vestibule area of 10 by 10 square feet and a floor area of 27.5 square feet, the Kelty TN 2 Person Tent weighs four pounds (4.0 lbs) and includes walls made of no-see-um mesh for ventilation.  The rainfly is made out of sil-nylon ripstop to help keep the tent lightweight, and there’s also taped seams on the floor and PU coatings to ensure water resistance as well as resistance to abrasion.

Since you’re going to sleep in this tent with another person, it helps to have two doors so you aren’t climbing over each other in the middle of the night and in the morning like newborn hamsters. The Kelty TN 2 Person Tent features a door on each side so you can get in and out without disturbing your tent partner, as well as two vestibules. This means you don’t have to share gear space either!

Additional design elements include noiseless zippers, guyout points, color-coded clip construction, and DAC pressfit aluminum poles. Strong yet lightweight, the poles feature a separate lifetime warranty and are celebrated as the much more durable option than those fiberglass poles tents used to come with.

Be sure to check out the Kelty Upslope Tarp that adds an additional 37 sq. ft. of  amazing vestibule  space.  This is definitely an upgrade I would consider with it only adding 1 lb 7oz  to your pack weight.

Cool Features

The tent has some pretty darn-cool features. Enjoy the “stargazer” feature, which is accomplished by rolling up the top half of the rainfly. The tent head includes a wall of mesh, and when the fly is open you can easily enjoy stunning views of the starry sky. The fly rolls back down in the event of a sudden thunderstorm. It also helps keep the tent rigid when taut.

Additional features include two viewing windows, and two built-in pockets. The pockets are a bit small, and there’s only two loops as well. Use the loops to hang lanterns, but forget storing any gear. However, the two vestibules provide more than enough space for safely sheltering your gear from the elements.

Waterproof

Nice and waterproof, you won’t have to worry about rain invading the Kelty TN 2 Person Tent. And while condensation is a frequent problem in most tents, the ventilation features–most notably the mesh–keep the interior dry. This is true even if you’re camping next to a river! And as previously touched on, the vestibules do a great job of keeping your stuff nice and dry.

Set Up

The Kelty TN 2 Person Tent does take a bit longer to set up then your typical 1 man tent, but can be easily put together and take down while on a solo trek. As any Kelty employee will tell you, this tent was not designed with a fast-pack option. However, the color-coded snap clips do help considerably in regards to setup.

Wrap Up

Overall, you have a really fantastic two-person tent with this Kelty option. Waterproof and relatively lightweight given its size, you’ll enjoy many uses with the Kelty TN 2 Person Tent. The two-door, two-vestibule system is great, and there’s very little to worry about in regards to condensation. The rain stays outside, as do the insects and other creepy-crawlies.

If in need of a two-person tent, you can’t go wrong with this option! Stay warm, stay dry, and enjoy gazing at the oh-so-starry sky.

Summary
I love the way that this tent folds up in a rectangular shape that can include keep the pole separate. It offers two doors so that you don't have to climb over the buddy in the middle of the night to get out.
